the hospital where he had cuts on his body. some of the strap " went through his skin and into his bones and that is why he had surgery. his mom sent his picture out and stayed up late last night. before going to bed she went to facebook and said thank you for all the thoughts and prayers, it looks like we'll be here for the next seven to 10 days. tomorrow aaron will have surgery again. that is why they have to monitor the situation. the family is well known throughout martinez, the father is not only a teacher at alhambra high school he is also the football coach. the mother kathryn was in boston and to run the marathon and getting close to the bears finish line according to family and friends. that is when aaron was moving toward the finish line to see his mom pass. he never made it there because of the blast. we get a chance to talk to the superintendent of the school and she knows the family

of alameda county who is also a bomb technician, thank you for joining us. >> thank you, good morning. >> what can you tell us as an expert that deals with bombs what they can piece together? today on the scene some people think that the bombs ruined everything is gone but you say all the pieces are there that they need? >> yes. any time there's an explosion those pieces remain. then maybe mangled are very small but they are there and they can reconstruct it. >> tell us about the so- called signature of a bomb and how that can help track down the person responsible? >> they have to make it a certain way. is a way that they are comfortable with. historically, a person does not go into an area that they're not familiar with. they'll be able to reconstruct those and find out how the person did it and that may lead to some clues. >> is there anything that

you know going in from the reports this morning and looking at video? >> i think they're doing a fine job and that scene will be shut down for a significant amount of time. they have to sift through everything. the rubble that is associated with an explosive, you have to go through that to find the bomb. >> you were in charge of the bomb squad at the coliseum last night, what additional steps to you and your personnel take after the bombing in boston? >> we deploy our canines. it was clear there were no problems. we know that after 911 there were a great increase in calls because people were more alert. we had people standing by just in case that could handle it right there and then. >> and a situation where you have 18 days or warriors game, you can see all the authorities check in people

>> we are back with the latest, live pictures out of boston. the latest with the investigation is as follows, law-enforcement officials have to search an apartment and a boston suburb just about 5 mi. north of boston. authorities were scene and taken brown paper bags, a duffel bag and some trash bags. so far mess it is will not say that they have anyone under arrest or motive in the attack that killed at least three people and wounded more the 176. 17 of those are in critical condition. i should also mention that police at this moment have surrounded a u.s. airways plane at logan international airport. all the passengers have been taken from that plane and bomb sniffing dogs are currently searching the luggage. again, we have not heard anything from the police department to what led them to the airport but as as we find out we will let you know.
